Our Happy Customers
On the morning of the 12th of January 2011 my pontoon, walkway and mooring posts were destroyed as a result of the Brisbane River flooding and a piece of the Brisbane City Council’s walkway breaking away and slamming into my pontoon and walkway.
I immediately contacted both my Insurance Company and the Brisbane City Council and informed them of the incident. This resulted in my insurance Company CGU giving me the go ahead to get a quote to replace both the pontoon and walkway.
I did some investigating with my neighbours as to a reliable pontoon and jetty Builder. I was given the name of Brian Pearson from Bayside Marine. I contacted Brian and he arrived the next day and examined the damage and indicated to me he would give me a quote to replace the damaged pontoon and walkway and supply two mooring posts. Within a week I had received the quote and forwarded this on to CGU for approval to re-build. Subsequently I was given the approval and made contact with Bayside Marine.
Within 8 weeks Brian arrived with his crew and removed the old pontoon and walkway and installed the new system.
To say I was happy with the result would be an understatement, the workmanship was first class, both Brian and his crew were efficient and tradesman like in their approach. They went out of their way to ensure the pontoon was fitted to the specifications, aligned correctly to the bank and the mooring posts were well positioned.
The end result was I have a pontoon, walkway and mooring posts that in my opinion are one of the best along the river. Compared to others in the area, this system does not bounce around when the Brisbane City Cats pass by. You can stand on my pontoon with comfort whilst watching the other pontoon systems bounce around like corks. The finish of the pontoon is excellent and the walkway with the timber infill is extremely well constructed.
I would not hesitate in recommending Brian Pearson and Bayside Marine to any person who is requiring a first class pontoon, walkway or jetty built.
Thanks Brian a job well done

Bayside Marine Services constructed a jetty for us on the Brisbane River in May 2012 to replace a pontoon lost in the flood. It has been a very positive experience and we are delighted with the end result. We were also most impressed with their handling of all of the planning approval and administrative aspects, with ongoing communication a real strength and benefit of dealing with a hands-on principal like Brian Pearson. Several changes were made once the piles and deck were in place to make a step feature from the lawn and also include side stairs to gain access when using a kayak. Brian provided excellent practical guidance with the changes and at reasonable cost. From the arrival of the barge on site the jetty was completed in just over three weeks, including the changes made to the steps and the addition of the side stairs. We have no hesitation in recommending Bayside Marine Services.

For months we have admired our neighbours’ pontoon. The design, the look and how it seems to handle movement so smoothly. As soon as we asked who made it, we were making our own enquiry to Bayside Marine Services for our own. Jenny and Brian were professional, friendly and understanding. In our initial conversation they knew the exact jetty we were neighbouring and that gave us an insight into how personally they treat each customer. We trusted their years of experience and liked knowing we were supporting a local business. Ever since they were recommended to us, we have been recommending them to our neighbours and friends. Now we still look out and admire our neighbours pontoon......but mostly our own!

I was one of the unlucky ones who had property damaged in the 2011 Brisbane floods but fortunate enough to get into contact with Bayside Marine.
They were prompt and reliable on all communication, meetings, commencement and had the job completed well within the specified time frame.
I had absolute peace of mind when it came to the construction and was kept informed at all times. I’m very happy with the end result and know that if I need repairs or maintenance in the future, I’ll be sure to call on them again.
I highly recommend Brian and the staff at Bayside Marine Services.
Thank you to Brian and your staff!

My wife and I were most happy with the service provided by Bayside Marine Services. We were also extremely grateful with the Company's ability to re-negotiated (for us) with MSQ after it was determined that the location allocated for our new swing mooring site was unsuitable due to the size and draft of our vessel. Moreover, the CD provided to us that visually documented the tackle used, and its subsequent setting in the river, was both reassuring and confirmed that we were dealing with a group of competent professionals.
We would certainly, without hesitation, both use again and recommend to others Bayside Marine Services.

To whom it may concern,
Letter of appreciation of work carried out by Bayside Marine Services. Belonging to the building industry for over 50 years, means that I have dealt with a multitude of trade people. In my opinion, Bayside Marine Services matches up with the rest of these trades as being genuine with all aspects of their work from start to finish.
First they deliver what they promised with up front advice followed by good planning, proper construction with quality and family competitive pricing. I have personally known Brian Pearson since 1985, completing work for me with jetties and pontoons and the most recent masterpiece in 2009. I thoroughly recommend Bayside Marine Services
I would like to take this opportunity to pass on my thanks for the excellent jetty replacement work completed at my place. I have now used Bayside Marine Services twice over the last 5 years or so and, on both occasions, I have found myself reflecting on what a pleasure it has been to experience the professionalism of both yourself and your trade staff.
The initial design ideas you provide are excellent and very functional. The end result is impressive – it looks better than what I thought it could. The quality of the workmanship is of a very high standard and the boys on site have been a pleasure to deal with – please ensure you also pass on my thanks to them.
In writing this letter I have come to realise an unfortunate result of the quality of the design and construction work you have completed on the new jetty. That is, it will probably be the last time I will need to use the services of your company because the new jetty will last a long long time !!.
Best of luck for you and your team in the future.

We recently contracted Bayside Marine Services to re-furbish an ancient jetty in Cabbage Tree Creek. The old jetty had become virtually derelict and certainly unsafe. Brian and his team designed a most suitable repair/rebuild plan which included some new piles. The plan was executed it with precision and with a level of craftsmanship we have not experienced in projects we have contracted over recent years. It’s encouraging to see that level of care put into such a project.
The quality of material Bayside sourced for the job was such that neighbours have requested the name of the supplier so that they can attend to their own structures. We are extremely happy with the result and can recommend their services to anyone.
